Hello 2012

Button shop tribute!

Up until last week I spent most of my time in Button land, after 5 years its time for me to bid farewell. I thought I would post a few images of All Buttons Great and Small one of the most mesmerizing shops you'll ever go into!

Berry and Apple Pancakes

Mmm one Sunday I had a hankering for pancakes and I thought I'd mix it up a bit and throw in some berries and grated apples and it worked a treat!

You'll need :
1 cup (250g) self-raising flour
1 egg
1 1/2 cups milk
40g butter
2 apples grated
200g frozen mixed berries
1 tablespoon of caster sugar
I cup of ricotta
Mixed berries, extra, to serve



Place the flour in a large bowl and make a well in the centre.
Add the egg and milk and stir until well combined.
Fold in grated apples .



Melt half the butter in a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
Spoon 1/4 cup (60ml) of pancake mixture into the pan .
Cook for 1 minute or until bubbles appear on the surface and pancakes are golden underneath. Turn and cook for 1 minute or until golden underneath.
Transfer to a plate and cover with foil. Repeat with remaining batter,
greasing pan between each batch.



Place the berries in a saucepan over a gentle heat and slowly add the sugar,
stir until sugar is dissolved. To serve stack pancakes and dollop ricotta on top,
then lastly spoon over berries.

Vintage Plastic brooches

Sadely supplies are dwindling for these yummy plastic flowers I use to make these brooches, hopefully there is an abundance somewhere and I just haven't found it yet!

Greenhouse By Joost

I had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful Greenhouse by Joost at Corner Cove in Circular Quay the views are incredible and the drinks and food were very tasty! Its a no waste restaurant/bar and is made entirely by recycled materials. If you haven't visited already you must try and go before it goes!
